HOW TO APPLY

Candidates can apply online only for the two posts of State Project Manager and forty four posts of District Manager on contract basis in Chandigarh/Punjab, from 08/02/2016 (1.00 pm) to 15/02/2016 (1.00 pm). No other mode of application will be accepted.

Checklist of the documents to be kept ready before applying online :-

  • Scanned photograph (of size 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) with Signature.
  • Complete information/documents about educational/professional qualifications and experience etc.
  • Scanned copy of the relevant documents relating to the essential education qualification/professional qualification, experience in respect of the post to be applied for.

Important instructions :-
Candidates will be required to apply online only through the websites - http://chandigarh.nielit.gov.in and http://recruitment-delhi.nielit.gov.in which will remain open from 08/02/2016 (1.00 pm) to 15/02/2016 (1.00 pm).

  • Candidates interested in applying for more than one post should submit the separate application for each post and also remit the application fee for each post separately.
  • It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to satisfy himself/herself regarding his/her eligibility with regards to the essential qualification, post qualification experience, age etc. before applying.
  • The number of years of experience required for the posts will be counted from the date of acquiring of prescribed minimum essential qualification for the post.


  • The cutoff date for calculating the age as well as completion of the eligibility conditions with regard to essential qualifications and experience will be the closing date for receipt of the applications i.e. 15/02/2016 which will remain unchanged even in case of extension of the closing date for submission of the online applications.
  • The number of posts and duration of the contract/employment may vary as per the requirement of the project/user department which will be co-terminus with the project.
  • The candidature of the candidates is subject to their eligibility regarding academic, professional qualifications and post  qualification  experience etc. and mere applying for the post does not mean that the candidate is eligible for selection.
  • Applications are subject to further scrutiny at any point of time during the period of service.
  • The selected/empanelled candidates shall have to produce the original testimonials for verification at any point of time during the recruitment process but preferably at the time of interview/completing joining formalities.

  • The selection of the candidates for the post of District Manager will based on the merit prepared on the basis of the formula given above.
  • The selection of the candidates for the post of State Project Manager will be based on the merit prepared on the basis of the formula (Max. 80 marks) given above and interview (Max. 20 marks). The first ten candidates shortlisted on the basis of above formula will be called for interview, the date and time of which shall be notified at a later stage on the website - chandigarh.nielit.gov.in.
  • The candidates are required to remit non-refundable registration fee of Rs 500/- per application (Rs 250/- for SC/ST/PWD/Women per application) through online payment mode via application software only. The bank transaction charges including taxes for online payment of fee will have to be borne by the applicant. Fee through other modes like Bank Draft/Cheque/Pay Order or Challan is not acceptable. NIELIT will not be responsible incase of incomplete transactions during the online payment process. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure correct and successful payment of the registration fee.
  • The candidate must indicate his primary email-id and primary Mobile No. on which any communication from NIELIT may be sent. The candidates applying for the multiple posts should indicate the same primary email-id and primary Mobile No. against all the posts applied for. Failure to do so may lead to rejection/cancellation of the Application(s).
  • The candidate should affix his/her recent colour passport size photograph (of size 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) on a white paper and then append his/her signatures below the photograph on the same paper. Scan the above photo and signature in a single file in .jpg format of size not more than
  • 50  KB  and  upload  it at  the  appropriate  space  provided  in  the online Application Form.
  • Candidates should upload only the relevant documents in the following sequence in a single file in .pdf format (not exceeding 2 MB):
  • Caste certificate(SC/ST), if applicable.
  • Category certificate (PWD), if applicable.
  • Certificate       of         Date    of         Birth(     issued  by         a           Municipality/Statutory Authority/Matriculation Certificate showing Date of Birth.
  • Mark sheet of class 10.
  • Certificates of essential qualification which makes him/her eligible for applying for the post
  • Certificate of higher educational qualification, if any.
  • Requisite  experience  certificate  which  makes  him/her  eligible  for applying for the post.
  • Aadhaar Card (if available).


  • The candidates must upload only the relevant documents. It should be kept in view that uploading of irrelevant qualification may lead to disqualification of the candidature/rejection of the Application Form.
  • Non-submission of the documents in the above sequence may lead to cancellation/rejection of the Application Form.
  • Where CGPA/OGPA is awarded and mentioned in the degree certificate the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in the online application.
  • Before finally submitting the online Application Form, the candidates must go through the particulars entered carefully. Incomplete forms submitted will be summarily rejected.
  • After submitting the Application Form, the candidate should take a printout of the Acknowledgement Slip bearing a reference number, which should be referred in all the future correspondence with NIELIT Chandigarh regarding this recruitment process.
  • Any request for change of particulars like name, fathers name, address etc. will not be entertained at a later stage after the online submission of the Application Form.
  • At anytime, if any document, statement or any other information submitted by the candidate is found to be suppressed/wrong or incorrect as per the selection/eligibility criteria, this Centre reserves the right to cancel the selection of the candidate/contractual employment.
  • The list of eligible/ineligible/provisionally eligible candidates and interview date and time for the post of State Project Manager will be displayed on the website of NIELIT Chandigarh www.chandigarh.nielit.gov.in latest by 18/02/2016 (5.30 pm).
  • The list of candidates selected for the post of District Manager shall be displayed on the website of NIELIT Chandigarh  www.chandigarh.nielit.gov.in latest by 19/02/2016 (5.30 pm).
  • The candidates selected for this post are required to join at a short notice.
  • The selected manpower will be required to use their own Data Card for internet, Smart Phone and Laptop. No payments on account of Internet, Mobile/Phone, and travelling in connection with the official duties will be made to the contractual manpower as these expenses are already included in the monthly remuneration.
